Favourite Ship

What's your favourite ship design in Star Trek? Personally, I go for the Soyuz/Miranda/Nebula/Akira, because I have an unholy fetish for under-slung warp nacelles and handlebars, but that's just me.

Since I started watching Star Trek as a baby/toddler and I'm a bit sentimental, I have to say the Galaxy class. As a child I dreamed I could set foot abord the Enterprise-D.

The Excelsior is sexy as hell. It's that classy sort of sexy too; high heels, sheer stockings, short black dress. :fap:

I like the Excelsior's hull and saucer, but the nacelles are a bit too long. They just seem structurally unsound.

For me, it's either the Akira (it looks like a space catamaran!), or the Defiant. The Akira is unique in it's use of fighters, and it's an awesome torpedo boat, what with it's 15 tubes. The Defiant's just a beast, though, and has a really unique atmosphere to it. It's cramped, and relatively uncomfortable; it's the kind of ship you make when you're desperate, and I feel like that translated well both into the show. Also, it has a cloaking device, so...

Excelsior, Sovereign, Defiant, Miranda, Constitution, Oberth - in that order.. The Constellation is cool, too.

The Galaxy, Nebula and Akira are all garbage IMHO.

You made me laugh. Loudly. In public. A filthy kind of laugh that makes people stare. Thank you!

And no love for the Intrepid? Damn, you people are harsh. Voyager was a crap show, I'll warrant, but the Intrepid's a punchy little swiss-army knife of a ship. Small, sleek, moving parts, can be used to punch through time-travelling space stations to reset the time-line. C'mon!
